I moved to Niseko with my Japanese wife and daughter from South Africa four and half years ago and it didn’t take very long before we recognized the magic of this special place and made the decision to set up house.

After almost 15 years in travel and tourism, I was originally enticed by the opportunity to be a part of this exciting, new tourism destination and was soon lured in by the lifestyle and all that Niseko has to offer.

One of the most appealing parts of life in Hokkaido is the distinctive 4 seasons. There is something very energizing about knowing that you only have a few months of summer and when it’s done, and the air begins to chill, the thrill and anticipation leading up to the first snowfall never seems to get old.

I can sincerely say that I am well and truly addicted and having acquired Explore Niseko this year, I look forward to not only growing this exciting business but hopefully contributing in a meaningful way to the area …… and selfishly to my own wellbeing.
