The snow is melting and Spring is coming…

While it may be best known for its winter activities, there are still plenty of things to do in Hirafu during the spring. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Enjoy the Onsen: Hokkaido is known for its onsens, and Hirafu has several to choose from, a favorite of ours is Yukichichibu, a short 25 min drive from Hirafu. Soaking in the hot water is a great way to relax and unwind after a long day of activities.

  2. Try ice fishing: While ice fishing is a popular winter activity in Hokkaido, it can still be enjoyed in the spring. Check out our Winter Ice Fishing here (insert link).

  3. Go hiking: Once the snow melts, Hirafu's surrounding mountains become a great place for hiking. There are numerous trails to explore with varying difficulty levels, from easy strolls to challenging hikes.

  4. Try outdoor activities: Spring in Hirafu is also a great time to try outdoor activities such as mountain biking and rafting. Many of these activities can be enjoyed in the scenic outdoors of the surrounding areas.

  5. Visit nearby attractions: Hirafu is surrounded by several nearby attractions, including the beautiful Lake Toya and the picturesque town of Otaru. Both can be accessed by public transportation from Hirafu.

  6. Enjoy local cuisine: Hokkaido is known for its fresh seafood, dairy products, and vegetables. Hirafu has many restaurants that offer delicious local cuisine, including sushi, ramen, and hot pot dishes. With less people in the resort, you’ll find it much easier to get a reservation.
